What can you use the app for?

The Linkup (formerly known as MediaMax) is a fine web-based application for on-line storage, sharing and hosting of documents. It provides a host of innovative features like creating private groups, batch upload and a Windows Uploader that allows a user to directly upload from his desktop. Users can upload videos, music, photos in massive numbers to their secured and private accounts. Once uploaded, files can be organized accordingly. The Link Up is a much better application from security point of view because it keeps a back up of all information that an account has.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

MediaMax was launched in 2007 and was known as Streamload then. It has a large number of subscribers and is serving countless files daily. It launched new services and came up with 'The Linkup' on May 9, 2008. Paying users need not worry about their accounts as their accounts will be automatically transferred to 'The Linkup'. Non-Paying users need to opt for the paid version in order to preserve their files.

What are the differences to other apps?

The Link Up has a bunch of interesting features that sets it apart from other such applications. To begin with it Windows Uploader is a big draw and is not found in most applications in its class. It is qualitatively easier to navigate and can boast of excellent features for photo tagging and resizing. In addition it premium option is relatively lower priced in comparison to its other competitors.

The Link Up has an attractive look with an interactive layout. It has a white background along with blue and white text. The logo, "The Link Up-the social network for sharing" appears on the top left corner. The website also includes some interactive pictures which are appropriately placed to convey the needed information effectively. The site is simple and its navigation is much easier.

How does the registration process work?

To upload and share files on The Link Up, one has to get registered with it. Registration is a speedy and is a hassle free process. All one need to do is to click on the sign-up button and the user is then asked to fill in a form containing general information like name, email, password etc. Once the user gives all information, a mail is sent to the specified address for confirmation and after that, the user is directly moved on to the home page.

What does it cost to use the application?

The Link Up is available in three types of plans based on usage and purpose, namely, Plus, Power and Pro. The Link Up Plus costs $5.95/month. It provides 25GB of online storage with a file size limit of 2GB. The Link Up Power plan is available for $11.95/month. It provides 75GB of online storage. With this Plan hosting and sending of files of any size is possible. A maximum of 2GB memory per month can be downloaded or shared, using this plan. Last one is The Link Up Pro Plan for which user has to pay $29.95/month. It provides 250GB of on line storage. Upload and download file size limit in this plan is also 2GB. All these plans have a facility of disabling the ads.

Who would you recommend the application to?

The Link Up is ideally suited for small businesses as it is affordable and yet gives a large amount of space. Though personal users may find a better set of features in its rivals; if one is looking for comfortable applications free of bells and whistles, The Link Up would surely merit a look. In addition The Link up Pro Packs are recommended to users who want to store and share massive information across internet.
